For Immediate Release

Marshfield Citizens Coastal Coalition develops comprehensive outreach plan in anticipation of flood map vote in October

Plan to include map readings, mailings, and more in order to inform residents on map changes

The Marshfield Citizens Coastal Coalition has announced that it has finalized a comprehensive outreach plan in order to inform residents of map changes, the results if maps are or are not voted in at the October Special Town Meeting, and have residents better understand their own individual situations and best insurance options.

A timeline of events has been developed and will include in no particular order:

  • Listening sessions for those for and opposed to the FEMA flood maps- For input, please call 781-635-5152 or email your comments at info@marshfieldcoastalcoalition.org We are looking for community wide input and participation
  • At least one map meeting for residents to find their structures on the flood map
  • A mailing to inform residents of the implications of voting for or against maps
  • Door to door campaign to encourage attendance at the October Special Town Meeting

The Marshfield Citizens Coastal Coalition will be taking no official stand on whether or not to approve the flood maps. We are abiding strictly to our mission statement and will be creating and providing the most comprehensive information for residents to make their own decision.
