Marshfield, MA Receives Updated Flood Maps

Since the November 4th, 2016 adoption of the Marshfield Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), the Town of Marshfield and their consultants have been working with FEMA to revise the 2016 flood maps with better data and information. The flood maps have now been revised, and draft maps are available in several places:

The MCC Website, where there is a searchable database of properties and the projected flood zone and elevation changes:

The Town website, with a digital map overlay of the current FIRMs and the proposed FIRMs

The revised flood maps are DRAFT and will not become effective and final until 7/6/2020. However, it is important that residents review the maps to prepare for the flood map change.

The Town of Marshfield, in partnership with the MCC, is hosting a flood map change public meeting on Thursday, March 19th, 2020.

Registration begins at 6:30, with presentations from 7:00-8:00 on all of the flood map revision general information, including a panel of experts to answer your questions. Then, from 8:00 to 9:00, there will be workshop time to speak to experts on a one by one basis.

Additional Information

The MCC has four pieces of map change guidance, all dependent on the change to your property. SFHA means Special Flood Hazard Area, which is any A or V flood zone.
