Marshfield Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan Update and CRS Outreach

The Town of Marshfield will be hosting a public meeting that will feature the Community Rating System Committee for their annual fall outreach and Woods Hole Group on the Marshfield Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan Update. Come share your ideas on how to keep your community, neighbors, and family safe from the various natural hazards that Marshfield experiences!

The meeting will be in person on Wednesday, December 14th, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Marshfield Council on Aging (230 Webster Street, Marshfield, MA). 

There will be a presentation by the Woods Hole Group to
-Describe the Hazard Mitigation Plan process
-Why the Town’s plan needs to be current
-Progress to date, including identification of critical facilities and preliminary results from the
vulnerability assessments.

To further encourage resilience in the community and to address ongoing concerns and questions on flood insurance, the Marshfield CRS Committee’s flood insurance outreach will discuss the following:
-How to protect your home before and during a flood
-Info on private flood insurance;What to do after a flood
-Updates to the NFIP’s rating system, called Risk Rating 2.0.
